I use the original Ibanez strap buttons. On one guitar I have Schaller straplock and if I had the original Ibanez starp buttons I would have used these instead as the Schallers have a tendency to unscrew themselves.
On my RG I have one of those straps with the clips. I attached it by taking off the strap buttons and putting them back on, but with the screws going through the strap holes first. Works a treat.
My Talman is about to be fitted out with Straplocks. I don't trust normal strap buttons at all.
I think ibanezes strap buttons are ALOT better than almost every other companys strap buttons. They are just the right size. I wish they made dimarzio straps without the clips though. Then I wouldnt have a reason to take them off at all, as the strap wouldnt have huge hunks of plastic to chip my guitars with.
all my guitars are fitted with DiMarzio ClipLocks, except my '54 Strat Replica which is fitted with Schallers and a vintage and worn Fender strap, cause the DiMarzio would look too 'modern' on it...
I use the dunlop strap lock , the one you have to push a button to unlock them, they are gold too and go perfectly with my jem7vwh,
they have almost the same look like the normal ibanez button.
Be careful with the Dunlop, they have been known to have the ball bearings wear out and then they come apart. I prefer the Schallers, although I have Dunlops on 2 of my 10 guitars. The rest get Schallers.
The strap buttons on my RG550 are awesome. I dunno what they use now, but those huge ones on my guitar sure keeps my strap on even with i'm jumping around on stage.
