Hey all,

Recently I've discovered this site and been poking around in my 1991 UV7BK, never opened it up before a week ago and noticing lots of interesting things.

I noticed both the Bridge and Neck Pickups are stamped N1 on the brass bottom. They also measure the same resistance whereas on Dimarzio's site for the Blaze pickups the bridge is supposed to be quite a bit higher.

I understand these were technically the "Blaze II" pickups. Was there only one variation of the Blaze II Humbucker back then before the current Blaze line? Or did Ibanez screw up and put two neck pups in my universe? :surprise:

N1 is a Blaze neck pickup, odd that you got 2 of them in your guitar. You should have gotten an N1 and a B1. There was confusion between DiMarzio and Ibanez on the naming convention but these are Blazes you have.

That's what I would have thought. They both definitely seem original and I bought the guitar supposedly new. Looking at it it definitely looks that both were in there this whole time, the soldering all looks identical, age, everything. There's some masking tape keeping the pickup wires in place to the bottom of the pickups and the tape all looks ancient like its 30 years old. I've had the guitar in a shop a couple times and thats the only time I would think they could have been switched out. I'm confused :)

I gotta switch out the middle pickup so I'll probably get a bridge pickup too. So odd....
