When the 30th was announced, I knew I wanted to get one. I didn't really plan it out... I just knew I wanted one. I wasn't sure which colour because I knew in person, they would be so different. I asked Rich a few times but all of his were spoken for.

So, I walked into a store about an hour and a half from my house yesterday and they had all three 30th 777's in a row, right there! It was insane to see them all! I somehow stumbled upon the greatest NGD I've ever had :)

I played them all and it was down to SK and LNG. I had to make a choice and I went with SK! The colour drew me in so much! It's very inspiring to play! It edged out LNG for me. There is something about it... I can't put my finger on it yet. Just something so special about it. You honestly feel like you have a little Vai in your fingers.

According to the store, there were only 8 LNG's & 4 SK's allocated for Canada. I have 1 of 4 SK's in Canada :) Pretty cool!

It's 2017 and I have a BRAND NEW Jem 777... it's insane! Thank you, Ibanez!

Anyways... here are a few pictures I took.

*This colour is impossible to photograph correctly but this is pretty damn close! It's stunning in person!

I too am tempted by the 777 SK, however the only one I've seen for sale had a bit of a rough, (more like bumpy), edge on the side of the trem routing where the pink meets the green, just in one spot but kept drawing my eye to it so I walked away. Don't know how common this is, I guess its not easy to get a perfectly straight paint edge like that every time.

I've owned 3 SKs. They're just crazy guitars. My 89 is totally unfaded and screams at you when you look at it. I haven't seen a reissue in person, but there's nothing like neon pink to make people stop and stare. I think you made a great choice!!!

What store did you pick it up from? Hamilton L&M?

Davie, you're in Edmonton correct?
I'm not. I'm about 40 minutes from Toronto.

I see it is listed again, no?
Im starting to think you're stalking me??? :smile_big:

Says it was listed 25 days ago. Looks like it was listed the same day as he posted here. Now it's even on sale!
I decided to actually return the guitar, so I figured I'd re-list it first and gauge interest, which there was none of... So it's going back.

I bought it knowing it would be 50/50. I love Jems and Vai... but to me, it's not a $5200 guitar. I'm going to enjoy the Jems I have and use that money to get a custom.
