EVO's

Hey. I just got a JEM7VSBL off ****. The guitar is AMAZING! (first jem :D)

Anyhoo, the pickups look the a little bit strange. The guitar doesn't have strings and I've used up all of mine so I can't put some on until later.

Now can someone tell me, is it normal for the single coil to be rather yellow? while the hummies are white? And they all have DiMarzio written on them right? (I know the pickups are DiMarzio Evolutions, just in pictures of VSBL's and VWH's I've never seen DiMarzio written on the pickup.)

I've just got a nudging little feeling they may have been swapped. But hopefully I'm wrong!

Please reply ASAP, go to head to work...

My VSBL single is a little off-white vs. the bright white of the Hum's. So I would guess it's normal.
...and yes they all have DiMarzio stamped on them.
Nothing out of the ordinary at first glance you can check the model number of most new dimarzios by looking at the bottom, and comparing that with the number on dimarzios website, the single coil may not be listed though ;)
Unless they messed up and put a Cream Color Cover on the Jem Single... maybe under the factory lights they didnt notice.

On my BSB´s Evos..there are not numbers under, like other dimarzios has..these are OEM Dimarzios and they put V4 (VAI?), V5 where the numbers should be..

the sma with a Paf pro that i have from a PGM, that has H1, if i remember correctly..

But al the OEM pick ups seems to be written Dimarzio on it..

cheers,
Valddrac
sorry for my English
Haha thx tom!

I just played it through an amp and it does sound perfect. No doubt in my mind now...

Yeah Distantshore, on mine its more than a little off white. I'd say its a creamy yellow. Doesn't look bad, just in all the pics I've seen they have been the same shade.

Maybe its got something to do with the year? Mine is 2004. What is yours?
I've never been a fan of EVOs (probably because I tried it with a 555 :)). But cangratulations anyway.

Mine is a 2002,,,Congrats by the way. I had a 2001 VWH before this, and I like the VSBL much better!

Hmmmm......I have a 2002 VSBL - the pickups are ALL the same color - WHITE. No yellow or creamy colors. And yes - it's an AWESOME guitar:)
i'll check mine when i get home to offer some more insight :)
All my pickups are white, but they could have faded?

You're missing out.... but no, they are not for everyone.
I'll put a pic up of it tomorrow to show you guys.
I don't think I'm missing out. I'm more of a Paf Pro man anyway.
