So, yesterday I got myself a JS-1. The body has some dings and scracthes and it's more yellow than white. The rest is in really good shape.

Nice collection! The JS is a good counterpart to the Jems. Very different. I've always liked the white JS more than the black one too.

Btw, how can you tell it's 1990? Is there any difference between 1990/1991?

And another question, it's got one original (well, not original. A cosmo black one) nut pad an two non-originals. I have a spare RG550 nut and tried it's pads but they're about 1mm too long. It's top-lok III so why do not they fit?

No logo on the headstock.

The JS, RBM, UV outer pads, all the same 10.5mm. They're specific pads. You can grind down a different pad but only a JS pad fits a JS.

Rich, you was right about the JSs a long time ago, how comfortable they are. My 3 JSs (700, 6000 and 1200) all cradle in my arms perfectly.
