So there is a big gash the size of a nickel through the black veneer on the headstock of an RG I am working on. What can i use to fill it in and even out the surface? Will wood filler stick to the veneer? My friend said maybe Stucco, but he knows nothing about guitars. Any products you guys would recommend?

Thanks!

Yeah pics will have to wait a while. My Hard Drive died, so I am using a computer at school right now. I might be able to use my phone tonight to get them on when I get home.

Okay heres a pic. The gash is smaller than I said. I didn't have the neck next to me when i first posted so i just guessed the size. The gash is actually the size of the tuner hole on the headstock. Well heres a pic
