Beautiful set.
I've been trying to get knobs to match my pickups but they are always just a bit too light or a tad too blue.

yeah that's very hard to do. not only dimarzio colors change tone production wise, they discolor on different rates.

I asked Dimarzio techs about that long ago and they said it was manufacturing. That a few degrees of humidity change and the color would come out slightly different. That was long long ago and I think all the bugs of todays manufacturing are worked out because I really haven't seen that problem in years. But I'd order a set of pickups for a guitar and the 2 humbuckers would be different shades, and the single always was. I'd return them all and tell them to send me a pair that matched [knowing the single probably never would].

That's ones of the reasons I haven't really pulled the trigger to install the green set I have.

I bought a set that were from the 80s to go in my 87 road flare red, but the neck pickup is almost brown and the bridge is almost blue.

The guy I got them from listed them as a "matching set" cause he bought and installed them together.

I had to order a new set cause OCD won't let me use the vintage set

They were probably slightly different to begin with and aged different from there, or, could be the seller myth, never know what truth is these days, so much is fake

They both had the same level of cigarette oder so I'm willing to believe that at at least owned both for at least a small enough period of time for that to happen haha.

But aging at different rates in different directions is just as possible it seems.

correct me if i'm wrong but 1989 and 1990 where only years where middle pickup came with silver poles.
