Ahhh.
I didn't realize that until you mentioned it.
It was in a Peavey Wolfgang that I had got from another board member (screamndemon69) --- I assume they were modded so that they would fit into the very tight cavity that the Wolfgang has.
Now that you mention it, it looks like these will need to be direct mounted as well.

I have no prob with direct mount.
I prefer the tone and the stability actually to ring mounted
