Sweet, I didn't even know it was out. I'm off to BestBuy.
Humm ... the release date is tomorrow. I ordered mine direct from Sony, and no sign it has shipped yet. :( I hope it shows up soon.

when did you order? i ordered mine two weeks ago and it shipped on thursday or friday. check your order status at sonymusicstore.com

hope mine gets here today! can't wait
BestBuy had it in stock, I got mine. Thanks for the heads up.

I'm pretty excited to hear the "Smoke on the water" G3 Jam, that should be interesting. I'm off to watch this bad boy.
I totally forgot the release date was anywhere near now. Why is fate tempting me to blow my new amp fund on other things...:D

Guitar playing can be difficult on the wallet :p

:edit:

Only one I've found so far in the UK is audio CD only, and it's £21!
Bull Moose wouldn't/couldn't sell it until tomorrow. Wah.

Yeah, I work retail, and we get DVD's in a week ahead of time, but aren't allowed to release them till their street dates, which are always on Tuesdays...lots of legal trouble if released sooner..wonder how Best Buy is getting past this?

I ordered mine two weeks ago. The Sony site says "currently out of stock, ship date unknown"! This sucks. May have to go to BB afterall.
are you guys talking about the live in tokyo?......i picked it up at wal mart two days ago.......
they all sound great.....i personally think John Petrucci did a very good performance over Joe and Steve........

when all three of them jam you can actually hear each one's solo this time......

i kinda felt bad for John ... when there all three jamming...it seems to me....Steve and Joe....kinda had there own thing going

and it appears that Steve never would look at John.........only time i seen Steve look at John was when Steve did a appegio type lick.. and he turns to John and gives him this face like aint i a bad ass...
but overall a great dvd....
I´m attending to the real Illusions show in two weeks. Do you suggest me to watch Steve´s performance on the DVD before the show?
i went to the g3 show with joe steve and yngwie....Steve was my favorite.....even though im a big Joe Fan..... it doesnt matter your going to love seeing him Live
Yes, I agree with you Honky Tonk. During the big jam it seemed as though Vai was getting intimidated by Pettricci's speed picking. And yes, Satch and Vai have thier rapport and Pettrucci was kinda left out, also when they were trading licks Vai would kind turn his guitar away so pettrucci couldn't see what he was doing and steal his licks.

In Vai's defense I have to say that when pettrucci shreds it sounds like he is playing scales and exersizes. But when Vai and Satch play it sounds like music. This also may be the reason that Vai and Satch are international superstars and Pettrucci is far less known. I'm not trying to dis Pettucci, I happen to really like his music, so don't get me wrong but a lot of his stuff sounds like exersizes and he relies on speed picking too much.

But anyway, it is a great DVD and it is loaded with lots of cool stuff. Vai busted out a sweet BRMR with led's that was named MOJO and it sounded killer. TMAC was playing through a Marshall. And Pettrucci's backline of RoadKings was nothing less than impressive. Satch was spot on as usual and rocked the place out. And I really liked the selection for the Jam songs, they busted out some classic rock tunes and stepped them up a notch Foxy lady, ZZ top (lotta nice girls down there), and Smoke on the Water.

If Vai would have played FTLOG this would have been the best G3 DVD yet. Oh, hell it is the best one yet, at least until I get sick of it.

i think petrucci is a little camera shy and he is not one of those types who'll jump around like vai...it seemed petrucci was feeling overshadowed by vai and satriani stage presence..but then....he started his speed picking.... rest is history..

i heard satriani and vai drank 5 bottles of gatorade each after that brutal speed picking marathon.
I wish petrucci had played one LTE song..that would have kicked ass exponentially ! :)
i think that Petrucci is not intimidated by Satch or Vai (haven't seen the DVD yet). He is always like that i saw Live at Budokan and he didn't really jump or something he just played some kickass guitar...
vai will put on a show, while petrucci won't really move around too much. i prefer watching petrucci play because i like music, not stage antics. i don't care about some guy prancing around stage. as long as its good music. all 3 rock anyways, they could criticize me a lot more than i could criticize them!
