Hey guys I recently acquired a used JEM7V and the fretboard looks pretty good BUT I noticed most of the frets have green gunk in the cracks. Any tips on how to clean this stuff up? I've included a few pics for reference:

I dare say a toothbrush, and some isopropyl alcohol should serve you well. Then polish the frets with your choice of materials and technique, and then condition the fretboard with your choice of fretboard conditioner.
Thanks, that sounds reasonable. One thing though, the previous owner said he did oil the fretboard last month so I don't want to overdo it. It should be fine though you think?

I dunno if scrubbing the green gunk out will take out much. A little oiling shouldn't hurt though. Just use discretion.
Not sure if that's it but I've seen green gunk on fretboards a few times and always it was because someone used food grade oil. The moisture from sweat will turn oil like sunflower, olive, etc. green. The last time it had a very noticeable smell from going rancid too.
I'd clean the fretboard good and then re-apply oil.

The last time I saw that sort of green build up was when a customer used Brasso to polish the frets.
I used a toothbrush dipped in lemon oil to brush out the crud. Took forever, but turned out nice. Customer was happy, got paid, all good.
Told them not to use Brasso on the frets next time.
