I'm putting together a intermediate level recording studio and need some suggestions with what people are using for headphones or the "latest and greatest"
"best bang for the buck". I'm pretty sensitive to sound dynamics and active with live sound mixing.
Thanks in advance!

Crazy how it's so "all over the place"...
But I guess it's no different than enaything else these days with all the options to choose from.
So much has to do with the individual ear, and perception when you read the different write ups, which again, is no different than debating overall sound with other equipment.

Just bought the AKG 240's. Sound great actually but after 1 1/2 hours they hurt .....
Return them. I love the BT 990 open I have. You can do 770. They are EXTREMELY comfortable for hours.

This is not true for my Sennheiser HD 280 close caps.

I should have gotten the 770 and I probably will down the road anyway. I use the 990s almost all the time and the HD280 only when I need the close caps. The BT are FAR more comfortable.
