HH wiring - pots and OTAX/VLX switch to Oak Grigsby superswitch?

1054 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  sepulchrave
Would an Oak Grigsby superswitch work as a direct drop in replacement for the Otax 5 way switch (the guitar in question is HH, RGT220)?

Also, what's the correct size for volume and tone pots - CTS audio log 500k, 6.35 mm diameter / 9,52 mm thread length?
Like these for example?

:( nobody knows?
I know.

You're trying to fit all that American crap into a metric guitar so nothing is actually going to be the same, hole pitches and diameters will be different, you'll have to completely rewire the switch.

To be perfectly honest with you all that stuff is a waste of time and money, if you have scratchy pots, jacks and switches then CLEAN them, if your controls work perfectly but you're not happy with your tone then PRACTICE, the more you play the better it'll get, the limiting factor will be the guitars setup so if you feel like throwing money at it then get a pro setup.

There's nothing wrong with the standard electronics on that guitar.
