how can i bend the whammy bar!!? :P

i read Rich(was it?) once saying he bent all his bars so they're the right height to float in his hand while playing..

these things are tough though!
any lil practical ideas on how to bend em? (possibly without a clamp etc)

i wouldn't want it to splay out in a curvy shape either(might happen by placing on a flat so it sticks up like a mountain then hammering down the peak..)

:) any ideas?

You kinda need to clamp it down on one end. You can do it with your hands from there. Keep in mind that you're not bending it a whole heckuva lot - a little is enough to put it in the spot you're wanting.

If you really don't have any access to a clamp, you could try putting both ends on a hard, flat, stable surface (i.e. a smooth piece of concrete street) so the bend in the bar is in the air. Then push down on the bend with your hand, foot, or whatever.

I replaced all my push in ibanezbars with the floyd rose finger tightening bar and bushing. much better angle and you can adjust the tension. no bushings to replace either.

Be careful bending those bars. They break off easily if you bend them too much.
cheers guys i'll try again today :)

How did you do that? I love the floyd rose arms, as they are screw in, and come in colors other than black, could you describe how you did this>?
got it!
sock under the bar on some concrete, held it so the peak was in the air, hammered it down= perfect result :)
