I have an '08 RG1570 that I want to get rid of and one of the mods I did to it early on was deleting the tone. I left a few centimeters of wire on it to give me a clue later on but I should have taken more pics or written things down. Looking at this DiMarzio diagram I'm a little confused, https://d2emr0qhzqfj88.cloudfront.net/s3fs-public/diagrams/RG1570mod4.pdf
If you look at the pic I uploaded, I'm wondering if the left most sloppy solder on the volume of 2 stranded wires wrapped together I did, not sure. Also I spliced a few wires together. I think I did this just to extend the reach as I moved the volume down to tone hole. Update: I unsoldered (1 and 2) from (5/6 and 9). Does (1 and 2) go to (3 and 4) and (5 and 6) go to (7 and 8)? If so, where does 9 go? Thanks for any help/confirmation. I've edited this post a lot as I've been tinkering..

There is something called a soldersucker. It may help getting this old blobs off.
I know, I always wish I had something like that when I do these things..
Do you know if I'm on the right track with the wires?

I have to be honest, I've never quite been happy enough with the RG. I've had a Yamaha Pacifica for like 27 yrs and it has always felt more comfortable. It's a pos now though. Part of what I like about Pacificas is the body, also I only need 22 frets, and I think I play much better with narrower string spacing. I'm going to get a Yamaha 112vm. The last few yrs Yamaha has reintroduced a maple fretboard model to US and I want one.
