Hi every one, just wanted to ask if some of you knows how the RG8527 compares to the RG2127X (or the RG2027X) ?

Here is the RG8527 :

http://www.ibanez.co.jp/japan/el_guitar/j_custom/rg8527.html

I am planning to buying one at Ishibashi, but I hesitate a bit... piezo, or J-Custom....raaaaaaaah !

What's your opinion ?

Is the RG8527 a "real" J-Custom, as fantastic as the 6-string counterparts, or is it just another 7 string wearing the J-Custom name to make it sell well ???

Please help, I'm lost... !!!

yes, yes, I know... but I asked that to know more about it, it's logical that a j-custom IS a j-custom :D :-D

It comes off that you think there are some "not-so-real" J Customs :)

When you say "J-Custom", plan on hearing about the top of the Ibanez heap.

As much as I detest burst finishes, I like the RG8527 in the DBK. Nice.

Yes, the 8527 is a J-Custom just like the 1880 is (was) a J-Custom, but it's not a limited-production J-Custom (like the RG-ART, Gear, Metal, CST's, etc). It's produced in greater quantities--which isn't a bad thing. I have an 1880 and it's killer!

The 8527 looks a lot like my RG7CT Prestige--the only difference that's immediately obvious is that the 8527 has a bound fretboard. The neck profiles may be somewhat different, too. I'm sure it's a killer guitar--I love my RG7CT dearly and it'd be a cold day in Hades before I'd sell it. I replaced the New/Custom 7 pickups with a PAF7 and Tone Zone 7, and now it really screams!

Not really... see below.

Are they above Prestige models?
no... same caliber

Are they above signature models ???
no... same caliber (korean sigs excluded).

all 3 lineups mentioned here are made by the same people in the same "shop". Stay tuned for a J-C FAQ which is coming ASAP :) ...glen

Not only did you read it 3 weeks ago but you were asked for your input, to which you ungraciously passed. If there's something in it you don't like or agree with you had every oportunity to correct/change it. You declined.

Glen's bias against the J-Customs is blatantly evident.
Now everyone can see it for themselves (he posted it; not me).

Here's the non-biased, ACTUAL 'scale' of the guitars coming from Ibanez:

1. Signature Models, J-Customs, Artists personal guitars.
2. Prestige, Higher Model Number guitars (X[X]-500 and up)
3. 400 models and below, most of the Acoustic lines.
4. The Rest.

Sig. models, J-Customs and Artist's personal guitars are put thru more steps, and finishing procedures/checks than the Prestige's and other models. This is stated by Ibanez, Hoshino, and their top techs.

*THAT'S* how it is.

P.S.- RICH- I DID correct it once. You two shot down every suggestion I put up there.
Now you both have to live with what's said in the FAQ. I won't correct it again.

It'll be funny to see how similar the USAC & UCEW FAQ's are(n't).

If the emails weren't private I'd show everybody just how you did not correct a thing, but gripe and whine about things that should be changed, you did not rewrite or change any of it. Period.

Oh PUHLEASE let me post them.....they'll show you the CORRECTIONS that needed to be made.

I'm not a writer for this site, nor do I have a massive grudge against one particular model (unlike some).
You got a list of the problems. Whether or not you chose to fix them was up to you.
I'm not spending 3 hours re-writing something, editing out massive mistakes and non-truths, just to have something completely different put up.
No thanks.

....and what a perfect example you two provide. :)

Glen- how about a phone call (or email) from Ibanez's #2 guy explaining the processes for each? Is that enough for you? It was enough for me.
