I've got an Ibanez RG and I've been reading a bit about pole piece heights since I've noticed how strange the heights of the pole pieces looked on my single coil pickup and I've been wondering, since the staggered pole piece heights on a single coil pickup are usually related to the neck radius of vintage strats, how does that fit into a modern day RG neck radius?

I know sound quality is relative, but I really wanted to know if the neck radius on and Ibanez RG is different from a vintage strat, then why would I have to use that staggered pole piece height on a single coil?

It doesn't really matter, you have a high output single coil on your RG so just set the pickup height correctly.
