Hey Everybody

I'm looking into buying an RG570
but this one is a little akward due to the fact that it is Orange well almost Road Flare Red but a little bighter.... and it has sharktooth inlays
the guy say it's an '89 and i've seen the serial number on the headstock and everything and it looks legit and everything but i just have never seen anything like it

any info would be helpful...

I looked it up. It's a RG570EX and indeed did have sharktooth inlays. I stopped bidding when it went past 500 but would have been nice to have an orange 570 to go with my 560.

yeah it's sortive carotene orange but not so much
its very wierd and has its own color... might just be the res on the photos... it could quite possibly be carotene orange
yeah i figured out that it was an RG570EX...
but i had only seen silver ones or black ones.... never any with this color..
it doesn't really matter anyways... it will be sweet to play some PG licks on it regardless
i will post my own pictures when i get it....

no... for sure doesn't look like that
that was my first thought thought..... refinishing...
but i don't think so becuase the headstock decal is original and and both match each other...

Is it possible that the original color has faded over the years to that orange color? Paint fading is common with Fenders and Gibsons....

I don't think so. My 560 is the same orange it was 22 years ago when I bought it. Of course, it could vary by guitar, conditions, etc.

I'm going to resurect this thread. I have one of these so-called unique orange Ibanez. For the longest time I thought the color was Carotene Orange, until I saw a CO and one like this side by side in a photograph.

I've been told that this particular RG570 or RG770 were talking about is/was reserved for Ibanez Dealers only and certain dealers got them, for the staff, limited number of them went out, they were never put in the catalog.

I "just" got myself an 89 RG560CO and I want to compare them side by side. My RG570(or RG770 since its got sharkstooth inlays) has been with me since the day it came home (yup, from an Ibanez dealer). I asked the salesman if he had anything bright (this was back in 89) and he said, "hang on!", came back out from the back with a brand new bright orange Ibanez, matching headstock.

For the entire time I've had mine, I thought it was CO, until recently after I saw that photo of an RG560CO and the mysterious orange 560/770. When my RG560CO comes home, I will take detailed pics with various cameras to expose the color(s).

The OP is right, the Orange we are talking about on these guitars isn't CO, but it's different, almost a mix of CO and RFR, very, very unique. And total METAL! (hairband metal! baby!!)

Unless your cones and rods are all fried from staring at it early on, it's not red at all, at least mine isn't. It's super orange, no mistake there. I just don't think it's Carotene Orange, but very close. Totally stock, no repaint, nothing! Bought it brand new in 89.

I meant more red than Carotene Orange is, just darker in general. Mine is an 1989 as well.

That is the photo that I've seen the two side by side which I was referring, thanks! Now in your photo above that has a closeup of the body, it does look more reddish to me. Mine, on the other hand, even when photographed, it is totally orange, not a slight bit of red. If I could describe it, it could be almost like a Shocking Pink, mixed with Carotene Orange, more so a darker orange. But until I have my RG560CO sitting next to the RG570/770, then that would be the final determination.

Hey, were you the original owner? If so, could you confirm that the guitar came from an authorized Ibanez dealer? Would you have any info as to if this was on the wall, ordered specially or perhaps even collected the same data regarding it's history.

I wasn't born until '91... So i definatly wasn't doing any guitar shopping in 1989..
But im still not 100% on the guitars' history...

The RG560CO arrived today! I'll get some pics up this weekend. I can tell ya that there is totally a difference in color between the two. The RG560CO is really, really bright orange. If I could describe it, it's almost like a orange creamsicle ice pop. It's legit since the entire body, even is some tight areas in the cavity plate, tone cavity are the same color, totally not custom painted at all, all original. The neck is from 1989 for this one too, kinda neato to have matching years of these. The other Mystery Orange one I have is way more red-ish tint mixed in with the orange. Exactly as another member described. The mystery orange color is bright, especially in the sunlight. I can't wait to put them both out there together to take some photos.

Since I bought it in 1989, or soon after, all along I thought that I had a RG570CO/RG770CO, w/matching headstock. Apparently this is more rare than I thought. I do see them in photos and show up from other owners, but this makes me want to continue to locate some history on these. Just going by what was told to me that they were given to Ibanez dealers for certain staff members, maybe one per store? I really do not know.
