I saw Steve in Manchester : he was ok - still plays very nicely ... but would have preferred more PAW tracks and older Vai classics from him - the likes of 'Candlepower' do nothing for me.

As it was standing, not much point getting the Full On Evo ... would see him again in the future (assuming he has a few more tours left in him) and perhaps opt for the package at a seated venue - be nice to get my old JEM777 backplates signed etc. The equipment tour would probably be more interesting if he had a full rig rather than the Fractal Axe-FX III plus be great to attend the Q&A.

I saw Vai in Oslo mid June. Chills and a big grin as he walked on! Worth the price of admission alone. Played mostly Jems, which surrpised me a bit. Started Bad Horsie playing the Envy Green PIA, but stopped 10 seconds in because the PIA was out of tune, and switched to the mirror Jem. Glad I went, now I have seen the legend.
