ive seen these two tremelos and aside from looking different is there any difference cos satch uses edge pros on his js1200s.Any reason why. (it is a recent pictue of him)

Satch is using the old original Edge in all of his guitars because he simply likes it. The production run of his guitars have since 2003 the Edge Pro trem. The difference is mainly the profile, where Edge Pro has the lowest profile plus you have the ability to put the strings on with or without the ball-end. Both trems equally good I guess some say the old Edge is better, but read the review on ibanezrules.com (banner above) in the tech section.

They work the same and depress the same. When pulling up you might be able to pull at bit more up on the original edge..
