New text as of July 20th, 2013

My name is Jason and I work for Ishibashi Music in Shibuya, Tokyo.

I seems that my presence here has ruffled some feathers so I would like to set the record straight.

This is NOT here to sell you guys this guitar. It is here as "Guitar Porn" and that's it. We can not sell NEW Ibanez to the international market.

The simple fact is that you all talk about Ishibashi, Ikebe and some other stores around Japan. As far as any of us know, I am the only Non-Asian person working in a Guitar Store in all of Japan.

There are often people thinking they know what happens here in Japan and guess, but there are a lot of unanswered questions like Japan is another planet, (which in some ways it kind of is).

About this Guitar...
This is an Exclusive to Ishibashi Music for the JAPANESE Market. Yes, it is the same as the JCRG813 in everyway except in Japan it's called an RG8228E followed by the color codes.

There are only 5 in two colours, Brown Garnet Shadow & Black Opal. I'm not here to sell them to you because I can't even if I wanted to. I'm just showing them off so you know they exist.

Here are some photos of the Black Garnet Shadow model. This is the one we have here in Shibuya.

Enjoy!!!!

Hi Jason,
that is nice, too bad I'm not a fan of 8 stringer, I don't even have 7 stringer yet! LOL.

anyway, do you guys have any plan to make some ishibashi special run of J-custom, or maybe even prestige model in the future?
when you plan to do that, what is the factor to make decision, such as :
body wood, neck wood config, flame top or no...etc..?
I'm sure you must have a deep survey on what the market wants at that moment before making that decision.

edit : i'm talking about 6 string...

Hi,

I celebrate the Ishibashi Music effort to show us their (exclusively for Japan?) J-customs. If I had the cash, I'd buy that 8 in the blink of an eye. But I'm an entrepreneur, and these are not times for shelling out big cash for guitars. :(

Regards,

JP

Thanks for the warm welcoming JP.

It turns out though that you can get these in the US. They are called JCRG813. They are exclusive within Japan to Ishibashi. Even if you wanted one, we're not allowed to sell new Ibanez internationally anyway. I put them here for our love of Ibanez, appreciation, dreams & most importantly.... for the history books.

Beautiful guitar, but how is it different from the JCRG813? That guitar is even available in the same colors.
It turns out they are identical. The only difference is the name here in Japan VS the US title. Why they differ I don't know.

A big thank you to Rich from Ibanez Rules for pointing that out to me. It's an Exlusive for us to have them in Japan when other stores don't (as yet possibly). Funny enough, it seems America got them before well before we did. 8O Go figure.

I spent some time digging through the different international Ibanez sites earlier. The part numbers don't seem to be the same everywhere in the world. For instance, what we have here as a JCRG613 is listed on all the international sites as JCRG20136. None of the international sites list the JCRG813 at all, so it might be only available in the US and now Japan through Ishibashi.

That's how it always is. I live in Nagoya and I never see new ibbys in stores outside of Shimamura. I was lucky enough to get to try out the JCRG12 or whatever that handmade 1 piece guitar is (forgot the serial off the top of my head).

Shimamura has their own line of standard RGs that are a little better than standard, but they still suck for the price imo, better to buy a prem and be done with it.

The one I fell in love with but never got to see with my own two eyes was this. I found it on the Japanese page of ibanez.com...

Is this is same one you saw? We have one of these in here at the moment. I haven't played it yet. I'm not a huge fan of neck thru Guitars personally...

For the record, I am not advertising this Guitar. This is only a conversation and I can not internationally ship this anyway because it's NEW!!!! Plus if Matias wanted to buy it he could get it in Nagoya where he lives.

Now that is a gorgeous guitar. Ibanez we need more like this, not just J Custom end of things though. Premium or Prestige, or even a decent build regular line would be fine.
They only made 2 of these red ones. Can you believe that? Mind you, they were massively expensive. I found out where they "were" and went to both stores, but they sold them fairly quickly. I would have loved tried them out.
