Where I live in finland at the moment, there are only two guitar stores. Only one of them stocks 7 strings... saying that, there is only one and it is a Jackson DR7.

The guy didn't speak much English but he did say that he didn't know much about 7 strings at all. It is selling for €650 which is about $790 USD. I have a feeling this is severely overpriced.

I did try it out on a small marshall (can't remember what model) and it didn't impress me much in terms of tone (clean or distorted)... however I had it turned down and to be fair, it wasn't a very good amp.

I'm wondering if any of you have owned one of these before and if so, how do they compare to an RG7321 or RG7621?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Wow... okay, I'm so grateful for this site. I didn't think it was anything spectacular...

Maybe this shop is hoping lack of competition will mean an easy sale. I think I'll stay with my original idea and import a 7621 from the states 2nd hand.

BTW... Progdude.... you used to own one... what was it like? I thought the duncan pups would be nice, however they really didn't do much for me. Did you like your DR7?

I had it for a few weeks and I wanted to refinish it and change out the duncans that sucked to some EMG 81-7s I have. So I stripped the guitar down and after all that work there was a crack in the neck pocket that got worse when I put the neck back on. It got SO bad that I couldnt use it so I pitched it.

Before the crack it was cool!
