I'm thinking of purchasing a Jem 7V7 and I'm wondering how much these instruments typically weigh. I'm an older guy with sports injuries to shoulders and back, so I go for light instruments these days. I had a Jem back in the 80s that was pretty light, but it was six strings and basswood. The 7V7 is alder and 7 strings.

If anyone knows the weight of theirs, I'd really appreciate knowing so I can get a good sense of what is possible here.

Thanks!

Ah, what a great idea to check sites like Sweetwater. Thank you!

The one I'm thinking about is 8.2 lbs, so seems to be about middle of the pack for such an instrument.

Thanks for the data point! How does it feel strapped on - well balanced?
I have no complaints what so ever about the JEM7V7.

The alder ads a little weight to the body and the wider seven string neck ads a little weight to the neck too.
The balance is fine.

The fretboard on mine is sooo dark and the inlays are done perfectly!

The back of the neck has a nice thin satin finish on it.
If feels so smooth; almost like no finish on the back of the neck.

The seven string lion's claw looks so huge; I love it!

It comes with a nice Prestige, red line case.
The guitar sinks down in to the case leaving the top of the guitar flush with the red lining.
