I pulled the neck of my VBK today to place a shim in the neck pocket.
I saw the stamps in neck pocket, and noticed an 'X' stamped on the
neck heel... I remember reading something about it on jemsite, but
can't find that thread...

Anyone... what does it mean?

I would think so. I don't really know for sure, but just makes since. The alternative is that it's an inspection "UN" ok mark meaning you'd have a bunk neck that was mistakenly mounted and put out for sale.

I'm guessing it's the first choice
