JS 2480 Questions

I have a Shecter CR Elite with a Sustainiac, it's paired with a Fishman Fluence active pickup and wondering if the JS 2480 behaves similarly.

In neck position with the Sustainiac off the sound is fairly lifeless, dull, with decreased volume. The coil split on the neck Sutainiac does nothing. Rarely if ever do I use it that way.

If I turn the Sustainiac on in neck position, output increases and tone comes to life. I now get two voicings on the Sustainiac though not sure if this is a coil tap or some other mumbo jumbo, because I believe the Sustainiac is single coil.

If I move the pickup selector to the middle position with Sustainiac off, I get coil split with no Sustainiac, probably on the bridge though the neck is active as well.

Bridge with Sustainiac on gives the coil split as well.

Is this the way the 2480 behaves?

Also like the high pass filter on my 2410 but see no mention of it on the 2480?

Someday maybe I'll find a dealer with a 2480 so I can try it out.

The 2480 has a high pass filter on the volume pot, push pull like all Japanese JS models. The Tone control pulls out to activate the Sustainiac. There is a small 3 way toggle to select modes when the Sustainiac is engaged. Normal sustain, harmonic and a blend which changed depending on where you play. When disengaged the Sustainiac acts as a normal neck based hum bucker sound. Hope this helps.

Yeah, sorry brain fart there. Thinking about what I want as opposed to what's there.

So if I had my druthers.

Give me the 2410, and swap the Satch Track with a coil tap sustainiac, split Mo Jo in the bridge.

In muscle car green 2490 MCG. Joe, Ibanez are you listening?
