I'm currently trying to wire up an old Ibanez like a JS1200, but have a question about the coil tap switching on the tone pot. The diagram shows the tone capacitor going from one leg of the pot to both of the nearest switch poles, while also grounding to the switch case. This totally makes sense in order to coil tap both pickups... However, I pulled the back cover off my 2008 JS1200 to get a good visual on how they did it and the capacitor goes through both switch contacts, but is not grounded to the case. My coil tap works fine, very noticeable change in sound... So should I ground the two switch contacts like it shows in the diagram below?
