I recently bought a KORG TR-61 keyboard and I want to hook it up to the interface for my recording setup which is the M-audio ProFire 610.

The interface has a MIDI input on the back for a keyboard but it also has sockets for line inputs.

Am I right when I say that I go about connecting the keyboard in two ways? Namely to use a split cable with a MIDI plug on one end and two mini jacks on the other, or to use two seperate mini jack to mini jack cables and insert those into the two line inputs sockets?

Or am I missing something here? I get the feeling I am.
