Hi,

The title pretty much says it all. I'm looking for a replacement tremolo plate for a 1987 JEM777. Not sure if a plate from another year will do. If so, I'd appreciate suggestions on where to find one.

Thanks,
AP

Can you clarify what you mean by "tremolo plate"? Are you referring to the baseplate of the trem? Or are you talking about the bridge guard.

The JEM777 has a cosmo black Edge tremolo, which has been in production since 1986 (with a brief respite in the 00s). I don't believe Ibanez sells the baseplate itself, but you can buy an entire trem unit new. Alternately you can find a used Edge for typically in the $150 price range.

If it's the bridge guard you're after, then your options are pretty bleak. That piece was offered only on the JEM777 and has been discontinued since. I've only ever seen a couple come up for sale individually and the asking prices were absurd.

This is the term usually used for a trem cover.

If you want an original solid cover you'll have to find one used, they've only used or sold the current generation of slot covers with the screwdriver slots for years now.
