I just installed this pickup in the bridge of my Ibanez. It is a sexy pickup. Notes run together smoothly when picked at high speeds(which is something I'm into). Very nice, very impressed. Just super floored right now with this pickup. :):):):):) I had heard that Vinnie Moore used Double Whammy pickups, and being a huge Vinnie Moore fan, I had to try it. Glad I did, not looking back any time soon!!!

They were not in the Gambale models, those had dual sound dimarzios.

I just got a double whammy as well and put it in my Rg550, because I too am a huge Vinnie Moore fan. Overall, it not exactly the pickup for me...

It is very articulate, and great for shredding... but its horrible for most else.

Horrible for clean, horrible bass so its no good for metal, there is no chug. I might try it in the neck for a lead/shred sound. Otherwise I am going to sell it soon.

Hey Tone Zone, I can only compare it to an Evolution, which I had in another guitar, Evolution was very harsh, not forgiving, which I had heard, everything sounded like I sucked...which is probably part of the issue. The Double Whammy sounds best to me with my settings on my amp set a little higher than I normally need for distortion and such, and then I turn down the volume knob on my guitar some, in order to churn out buttery smooth shred notes, like Vinnie Moore. Harsh notes played quickly together in runs sound like crap, but when the sound is toned down/mellowed out some, it sounds great and very fluid! Hope this helps...
