i choose for jimi hendrix! because i dont know the other guys....are they movie stars?
I don't what we can compare here !

I vote Elvis because he had better costumes !
nothing to care about Jackson originality and inventiveness !

I love absurdity !
even Jackson knew Elvis was better, and in his quest for greatness thought marrying his daughter would help him....

Elvis for the win !!
I wrote he alledgedly did children...Just being accused is enough of a headache for anyone!
You are wrong. It's not enough for me.

What you say doesn't make sense. Elvis slept with a lot of other women while he was married. Would you like that? Based on your reasoning that is more acceptable when proven than the accusations made against MJ. OK, if you're a swinger I get it, if you're not... Well... Let's just hope you are. :)

When I made the headache statement, I meant a headache for MJ, but as long as the can of worms is opened up...

Cheating as an adult is a breach of an understood commitment to another adult with an adult, and it is wrong. I admit that...

Ruining someone underage mentally by sexual/mental/physical/emotional/spiritual abuse is a whole other arena.

I do in fact think it's more acceptable to cheat on an adult lover with another adult, than to torture a child in anyway. That includes dangling them out of a window, which of course wasn't an alleged act!

And yes being an accused sex offender is worse than being a proven cheater! I would rather have a block full of adults who were all cheating with each other, than one accused/unconfirmed child sex offender!! Maybe you think otherwise. If my wife left me, while it would be a slight sting, it could never compare to the pain if something happened to one of my 4 children! I sure hope you place your children as the most important things in the world to you if you have or ever do have any!

OK, I misunderstood you on the headache.

Not talking MJ specific. Anyone can accuse anyone for anything, of course some of the accusations is bound to be true. I still don't think it's right, ideally, to cast stones until proven guilty.

Edit: Like all the other "child friendly" actors and musicians through the years, I think he will be remembered for his music.
Just so we understand each other too, I'm a big Motown fan. Loved the J5, and MJ's solo stuff up through Bad. Quincy Jones though I think was the real genius behind Michael. Quincy is the Man!!

I own some MJ stuff, some J5 stuff, and nothing by Elvis so...:)
In a battle to the death, between MJ and Elvis, the winner would be Joe Satriani.
Saying that they both "suck" is an extremely generalized, ridiculous statement. I'm not a HUGE fan of either, but neither suck...
What you've said yourself is an extremely generalized ridiculous statement. We live in a democracy. One is free to be of the opinion that something or someone sucks or not.

If you don't think either sucks, that's perfectly fine.

You can say whatever you want, but that doesn't make everyone's opinion equally valid.
Actually if you look up the definition of opinion, everybodies opinion is equally valid. An opinion (by definition) cannot be proven true or false. Anything that can be proven is not an opinion but fact or misbelief.

See there you go again. Saying the not everyones opinion is valid is not a democratic way of looking at things is it. Everyone is entitled to an opinion.
they both made an impact on music....both were major performers for a long time...Michael started younger and finished older...so Micheal wins..

I didn't say that everyone isn't entitled to an opinion. That's certainly true, but the validity of everyone's opinions isn't necessarily equal. For instance, I could have a certain opinion on rocketry (something which I know little about), but a certified rocket scientist who works at NASA will obviously have a much more valid opinion.

The whole notion that everyone's opinion is equal in cogency (not that everyone is entitled to an opinion) is an unfortunate byproduct of our increasingly egalitarian society. It's akin to giving trophies to everyone in a competition, even the losers.

Bottom line: everyone can have an opinion, but opinions are not always of equal value.

You're correct. Some things can't be put into opinions. You can't have an opinion on whether or not the the sun is shining. It's a fact. And it's a fact that Elvis has impacted music in extremely large ways. He was responsible for fusing blues and rockabilly and popularizing rock n' roll, elements of which incorporated themselves into other genres like metal, etc... And one assumption I have made is that everyone on this forum is into either rock, blues, metal, or any combination of them (considering that is is Jemsite). So unless you don't like any of those types of music (which could be true, in which case I stand corrected; chances are it's not though), then you certainly can't say he "sucks" with any valid argument to back it up. That's why I said it was such a sweeping, generalized statement. It's ridiculous in the sense that it overlooks everything he's done to impact the music we listen to today.

Sorry for straying off-topic. Carry on.
