I recently bought a Jem 77RBMR and I am loving it!!!! It's a great instrument, and prefer those Breed pickups to the Evos in my Jem 77VWh. It's truly a beautiful instrument, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a Jem.

More like they only sound good when someone who can play guitar uses them - they are somewhat dark compared to PAF pros, but it's all in the hands.

BTW, why a $1000 cutoff? I'm sure you lucky souls in the US can get a used Boogie F50 for about that - and ANYTHING sounds good through those!
