I hope these links work, keep in mind im not the best photographer.

Well now to talk about the guitar. First mistake was WRONG CASE! But I can live with it I guess but Matt (from Matt's Music Center) said UV1000C so I wasn't expecting it to be different, apparently they're using MC100 for JEM's this year and Matt didn't even open it up to check if it has the right case, shipped it straight away (generally is this bad? shouldn't they open to check everything?) And the ziplock bag was broken, not a real biggy.

Cosmetically she is perfect, absoulutely stunning and couldn't be happier but I ordered blind and had never seen or played one, just heard reviews from here, and I never realised how small it is, looks huge in pics. She feels good aswell besides very minor little dings in the back of the neck, like someone has just got a pin and hammered the pin in very slightly 4 times.

The other thing I'm not happy with is (probably my technique) but my pinch's arent as lively on this guitar, and other harmonics also die out soon, the pickups are pretty low. When I pinch it squeels but then the vibration of the A and D strings takes over and it sounds horrible. Another thing is the Edgepro, I can't seem to use it well, maybe it's the trem or me, I dont know. but when playing something like the chorus of bad horsie where u tap on the bar and you flutter it for the notes you play, I get alot of noise from the E A and D strings and it drowns out what im playing on the higher strings. Ohh well, best guitar I'll probably ever have.

By the way the reason I didn't buy from Rich is... I'm stupid. When I went to look very quickley for prices on JEM's I checked Rich's site and saw $2700 for a JEM and didn't bother to read the fine print to see I had to ask for a quote and thought to myself "no setup is worth $900". My bad, I didn't realize that it was only $100 or so more until 1 week before the JEM came, horror mistake, I know better now.

if you have a strong preference for the UV1000 case, i'd say you still have every right to demand what you asked and paid for. i don't actually know of any advantages or otherwise of the UV1000 over the M100, but if you have a preference and were told it was what was being shipped to you...

weird. personally, i wouldn't be too impressed if a new guitar had this. pics?

funny thing is that i found that harmonics don't sustain well at all on mine when using the edgepro. not as well as on my edgepro 2, anyway. hmph! i'll be following this thread to look for suggestions.

Congrats.

If you're not happy with what you have received get your money back and buy from Rich. I had no doubt when I bought mine.

Regarding the harmonics, I'd say it's a matter of the pickups but difficult to say......

Haha, yeah from what I've heard here they're top notch. About the little dents in the back of the neck you can't see them, only feel them, they are just a little annoying when moving up the neck and u feel little kinks in it.

The case is the J Craft case with J Craft badge. The UV1000 is dead now unfortunately, the J Craft is included with all MIJ Ibanez.

Take it to a pro and have them set it up for you... Mine played great until I took it to a pro. Since then it's played perfect : D Well... when I'm not the one playing it : )

I have also noticed that pinch harmonics are little dead and "splintered" sounding on my Jem7vwh compared to my RG (ToneZone), both using the Edge Pro trem. Even my RG1527 with the original pups (yuck!) squeals like a madman. Even my strat (FastTrack II) squeals and sustains like no tomorrow.

Maybe the Evos coupled with alder just don't accentuate the harmonics as much?

Regardless, I still play the sh1t out of mine and I love the tone of the Evos. I can squeal with it, mind you, but just not as effortlesly as with my other guitars.
