Well, I finally played one today for the first time. I heard so much about this model and every magazine praised it, so I was excited to hold it in my sweaty paws.

This guitar SUCKED.

I played it through a Mesa Lonestar and no matter how hard I tried to coax a nice sound out of it.....IT SUCKED.

Most PRS's I've tried have been set up good and sounded fine, but
This guitar SUCKED.

The white paint is nice, but

...have I mentioned this guitar SUCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????????????

It's a Navarro,,,,it has to suck. Hearing that it didn't suck would have shocked me. Sorry not a Navarro fan. It's a pretty guitar,,, however Dave is a pretty guy ( I'm hearing a Zappa song in the back of my mind now ),,,that's scares me. I think I had more respect for Dave before he did that INXS thing.

Dude, Navarro hasn't done anything worthy of respect for a while. He's more star than rock, for sure.
I never like him so I don't care bout his guitar at all
Ah, the benefits of having a famous babe for a wife.
I hate trying out guitars at the store because they are usually set up ****astically. A bad set up can turn a block of gold into a stick of poo. I'm not sure if that is the case, but I find it difficult to believe that a signature PRS is a bad guitar.
Fyrie, PRS has ALOT of bad guitars. One of the biggest rippoff examples of their work was a Blue Mateo Custom 24. It was my friends. He payed some crazy amount like $2,000 for it, and it played like a $500 piece of crap. Those guitars are huge rippoffs for how much they charge.

He has really done something.

I never liked him either, never liked his attitude or persona. I remember at a guitar show once he said (and I quote) - "Before I went to PRS, I had a serious drug problem at the time..........I was playing Ibanez!" And of course all the PRS fans giggled aloud.

And after he said that, I lost all respect for him.

What an *ss . But lets face it a company that has players like Navarro and Tremonti under their wings can only IMHO produce cr*ppy overpriced guitars. Then again I could be wrong, since I play Ibanez I must be on cr*ck, sm*ck etc...... Gee thanks Dave.

What the hell? Ibanez is not the problem Dave! It's you! God, does make me want to smack him around the face with his own signature model. And I don't even own an Ibanez! :)

And as for PRS, the only artist under their wing that I respect was Carlos Santana, who's been with PRS since their earlier years. Todays artists that play PRS, well, I don't really want to elaborate...

Yeah, I'll be first to admit (or in this case the second) that their signature artist roster is pretty lacking, and I'm a big PRS fan.

I wonder why the Navarro model sucked so much... it's basically a custom 24 in white w/ gold hardware, birds, McCarty switching... the only thing really "custom" about it is the truss rod cover and the Brazillian RW fretboard... I wonder how much upcharge there is just to get Navarro's name on it vs. getting a Custom 24 in any other color with the above options.

Perhaps the one you played was a dud... who knows? I've had a dozen PRS's... 10 have been killer, 2 have been disappointing, which is a pretty good ratio compared to other guitar brands I've played a lot of.

I find it strange for a guitar company to make a sig model for a guitarist soooooo long after he's done anything substantial (apologies to Carmen Electra, of course). Jane's Addiction was relevent, what, ten years ago and he hasn't done much else *musically* since other than a forgettable solo album and a forgettable stint with the Chili Peppers. I think his playing was very good in his prime, but if preening for the paparazzi in Hollywood and playing celebrity poker is what it takes, PRS might as well have a Paris Hilton signature model, too.

lol, I would buy that over a Navarro signature anyday of the week! :)
