I always wanted to make a thread about this, looks like you might have an answer I have been looking for. What's F-spaced pickups? How is a F-Spaced Air norton different than a regular Air Norton. Sorry I don't want to hi jack your thread. Nice guitar!

 

From what i heard/know F spaced means that the polepieces (the metal circle things) are slightly further apart on guitars with a temolo bridge compared to a hardtail. But there is absolutely no difference in the sound whatsoever.

No need to change the pickups. My 2620 has them and I can't imagine it sounding any better.

 

How high off the body is the neck?

Well, it was the only one they had at the shop... And doesn´t make much difference anyways. F spaced are for tremolo guitars. It has a tremelo, so i thought an f spaced neck wouldn´t matter. Its really a tiny difference, not even noticeable on sound.

 

well, you're still safe since the pole pieces distances is larger than the strings' and not the other way around.

Its just that i'd rather prefer a normal space for the neck

Yes the Ss made after 2004 are thicker at the edges. It's no longer a saber.

But a butter knife.

 

Remember F-Spaced is for Fender Spacing, not Floyd Spacing. F-Spacing can be good for guitars that aren't necessarily equipped with a trem (my RGA for instance benefits from an F-Spaced bridge PU).

Just make sure you use a coaster, wouldn't want to ruin it...

Kevin, I have seen plenty of coffee tables with that much grain, but then I have always been into woodworking, furniture building, etc.
