Thought I'd share this absolute beauty I was very lucky to pick up the other day. I believe this used to belong to another member of the site.

It's a 1989 RG550 in the rare colour (I think it's rare anyway) of Five Alarm Red, stocked with very cool green DiMarzios - D Sonic (bridge), Fast Track (middle) and Evolution (neck), as well as green knobs.

For an almost 30 year old guitar this baby is in very good condition - just a few slight marks on the body and of course a lovely patina on the neck. It plays absolutely incredibly and looks stunning

Enjoy!

Yeah that's hot! If I get another guitar it's gonna be that model, but I got a bazillion of em in various stages of modification, so I'm in no hurry.

I have a 1989 Five Alarm Red RG550, all original. I've been trying to find out how much it's worth. Apparently, in 1989 Ibanez release the Five Alarm Red, Pearl White, and Desert Yellow RG550's with black headstocks, which mine has (and was why I chose it... it was different from the others...) but they only did it that year on limited models it appears. Does a detail like that make it more rare and therefore more valuable?
