I believe the PAF-Pro was the standard rock/metal pick-up of the late eighties...

not excessively hot (there were more civilized methods to boost a valve amp at that time ;)) ad thus effect friendly...

Weren't all the JEM equipped with a Paf-Pro, prior to the arrival of the EVO?

i just got a paf pro as well, it is very nice, i had one once before and didn't like it, i guess it was just my gear or settings because now i have new gear and my setting are a bit different and i love it.

It has very nice treble responce that cuts yet chords have a great full sound that is balenced.

I really like it, it is perfect for what i am currently doing.

by the way dimitar that was very cool clip :D

I heard that it was only best in the neck position. How does it sound in the bridge? because i'm looking for a power humbucker that has amazing clarity and you can hear every note in a chord well and is great with solos

paul gilbert uses the paf pro a lot in the bridge and neck.

He gets some really good sound too, very full thick and chuncky.

Steve vai's for the love of god , i belive was recorded with a paf pro, i know he used them back in the 90s before the evo, of couse he used a universe with blaze pickups too from time to time.

Also buttler's bag of tricks was recorded with a gutiar equipted with paf pros.
