If I replace DiMarzio pickups with another brand (e.g. BKP or Seymour Duncan) will this be as straightforward as if I put in another set of DiMarzios?
Sorry if this is a stupid question - I should probably highlight that this will be my first time replacing pickups. I recently bought an RG652FX with a Tone Zone and Air Norton set. I'm lowering the tuning to B standard for death metal tones (Amon Amarth, Morbid Angel, Carcass etc.), so the Tone Zone isn't right for this application. I may end up sticking to DiMarzios, but am staying open-minded for now (think I've narrowed it down to D Activator, Imperium, BKP Warpig, BKP Painkiller & SD Black Winter). Actives are definitely out of the equation though.
Also, if I decide to only replace the bridge pickup, would there be any issues/complications in pairing the Air Norton with a non-DiMarzio bridge pickup?
