Hey, can anybody tell me what they think of this amp, I only have 315 bucks at the moment at its around 600-650 or so, but christmas is around the corner:) so what are some pro's and con's and it will be very cool if someone has some soundclips, Thanks.

Also if there are any other amps around the 300-650 range (All tube amps) that you can tell me about that you think is a better choice that would be great.

I have a Flextone 2 right now..which is sweet but tube amps just have the umphh if you know what I mean haha, well anyways the Tone im seeking for is a vai/satch meets racer X style of tone, I have a Ds-1 already...A nice sustainiing lead with enough dist. and a nice dist. rythm sound, and the clean I like jsut to sound "clean" haha......

Sorry for the double post...:(

I think they sell for around $350 online, shop around. Haven't tried one yet, but it's a killer price for an all tube combo. You might also check out the Randall RG50T, or something like that, it's all tube also and in the same price range.

I haven't tried either one personally, just throwing out a few options for you.

Another one to shop for would be a used Trace Elliot SpeedTwin C50 or C100 combo, they are rare, but show up on de bay every once in a while. I picked up a H100 head recently and it's a killer.

Thanks, I'll check into that Randall for sure,I am using Canadian dollars for my 600-650 estimate but it might be around 500-550 CAN aprox..

BTW is Musicains Friend the best place to buy gear on the net? Or is Zzsounds etc..?
i buy from sam-ash....com . MF has a bad rep for customer service and sending returned items out to other customers as new.
Thanks man, any comments on amps?
have you considered the vox ad50vt or ad30vt ? They are nice little amps, have good cleans and the distortion is alright espically if you have an overdriver pedal. Effects are actaully ok as well.

the 50 watt sells for about 275-285 USD on the bay. the 30 watt version goes for 239 new and much cheaper used. check this one out on the bay.

Thy have a 12ax7 pre-amp tube, which actually does somthing. Like i said you throw an overdriver in front of one or A ds-1 and you can get some great sounds. Changing the 12ax7 actually does a lot for the sound as well.
oops went back and read your post again .

Have you thought about laney. They make some nice stuff, i have heard good things about the aor series . Suppose to be an 80s sounding gh100l or whatever gilbert uses. They go cheaper on the bay, i am not sure if that is in your budget though.

No fx loop though...
Thanks for the input (get it "input :|) I'll check out some laneys, to bad the local music shop (Long and Mcquade in Oshawa) don't sell Laney nor peavey nor randall etc, well only if there used they sell em...

Those laneys sure do look sweet...I better save up hehehe
Well i'm interested in one of those peavey valvekings... especially the 100 watt combo... so instead of making a new thread i'll ask it here...

Are these any good?

Maybe i can get a used 5150 (60 watt combo) for about €550 is that worth it? any thoughts or comments?

I appreciate it!

Joe
Anyone? Got any other suggestions for something in the price range?
