I have two PIAs, both like this. The volume is not gradual at the low end, it's more of a dramatic change from off to on!

 

Perfect! I think I will replace the pot because I prefer the logarithmic one

Just bought Pia.... maybe it s a simple 500k push pull pot.... I am checking. I have the same "problem". Super cool guitar but i don t like the volume works in a strange way for me.

 

I've stated 100 times, just missed this thread.
Ibanez has always used pots backwards. They use logarithmic pots for tone and linear pots for volume. Don't know why, can't get them to change. It is what it is.

 

Sorry for double post.... i was think to open no like usual from the back... I forgot i have pickguard now. I changed in 2 days strings and setted bridge... tired to do again. Maybe writing to ibanez they answer?

 

So it isnt a usual push pull.. and impossible to change?

Ok... so it is possible to use another 500k push pull logaritmic maybe. I should open and check. I always used push pull on tone to split pickups. I think it is possible. Did you ever ask to ibanez stuff?

I swapped in a DiMarzio EP1201HP 500K custom taper volume pot with a high pass filter. Much better, gradual control of volume, and I like to have the filter always on and no longer need to leave the pot pulled up.

 

Understood.... i will change with another A500k with push pull and try to replicate the high pass filter. For me it s really bad to Don t have a good control on volume while i play

 

I might be late to the party but I've had this issue with my Pia while my JS2400 and JS2450 are great. So I ordered a volume pot for a JS2400 from Rich since it has the same push pull high pass filter and replace the PIA pot with it. Voila, it's great now working just like the JS models.

 

Good to hear that. So on JS models pot is algorithmic?
