what is the difference between f spaced and regular pickups. and sound wise, what is the difference between passive and active pickups.

i think ..might be wrong but f is 51mm between each the first pole and last pole on your p/up and regular is 49mm. f is only used for a floyd rose because the spacing between each string is bigger.

Active can be good in some case's where passive can be good in all ( in my opinion)

another thing I have noticed is that active pups tend to sound the same no matter what wood and guitar they are in I think, as passives change greatly depending on the wood making them all have a individual sound.

active pickups are powered by a 9volts battery.

Active pickups basically have a booster inside the guitar, like an input booster that boosts certain frequencies. I'd much rather go with passive and use my own input boosters on my chain. This gives me the option to turn them off, the option to choose what I want to boost, and I prefer a Tube Screamer or treble boost anyday
