Nice axe. :)
Wow, well done dude! It looks factory! I'm even more impressed that the quick access battery hatch is there too. It's a cool feeling when you've it on, isn't it? Wait until you're around other guitarists and they're trying to figure out your sustain. It's great fun. The secret is not to tell them :)

Owen.
Very clean installation! Impressive work. I still wish i'd picked up a seven-string Sustainiac while they were still available.
Very nicely done dude, congratz!!!

Regards

André
Hey I was think of doin that too was it hard to route for the battery??
Hey, I have questions.

1. Is that a mirrored pickguard? Or solid color?

2. Do you get any noise when the sustainiac is off? I've been running into an issue with it in mine (2550egk), where it sounds great with the unit on, but when you turn it off theres a ton of grunge in the signal.

The technician who installed it said he spent a lot of time on the phone with the dude at manic music, and together all they could come up with was the mirroed pickguard was the culprit.

I'm not sure what to make of it.
cool

I'm alittle scared though lol will at that drilling afect the tone of the guitar?
thats my biggest concern

Then why are you playing a guitar with a pickguard and a floyd? It does change the tone but look at a guitar like flo that vai uses. Insanely beautiful tones not to mention the tons of fernandes guitars out there that sound amazing. On top of that acoustics have less wood than an electric? what about them :p
Yes it is a mirror pickguard, and when we were scratching the foiled cover we found the mirror finish was the same fact, so i decided to try isolating it with a plastic layer, and i think it worked, have not noise at all.

actually its routing, and if you can't do it by yourself (as i couldn't) get an expert with that to help you. If i had a lower quality guitar maybe i could try it myself but not my prestige or a JEM neither, Ned was so brave!!
By the way, i'm recording some sustainiac demos, if anyone wants to hear how it sounds (something else than whispering and other vai tunes), just let me know.
What kind of plastic did you use? This tech has had my guitar for longer than I have, and its getting frustrating to no end.

Could you be convinced to pop the pickguard off the guitar so we could see the guts? =D

Oh, and it looks like you configured yours the same way I did, with 1 push pull and 1 toggle switch. I like it a lot, but I had to slightly bend my whammy bar (heh. hehe. hehehe) to get it not to hit the pot when in use.

Anyway, great job!
hey extremist777, you goint to change the other pickups? you will notice a heap of differance if you do . i think i heard you say you was going to change them or am i getting you mixed up with someone else?

any way would like to hear a sound clip:)

That's why i put the push-pull in the tone, to avoid that problem.
