I like to pick and sweep whilst resting the fleshy part of my hand near the bridge. The problem is I've found the middle knuckle of my pinkie keeps bashing against the volume pot when I sweep. The Jem is the only guitar I have this problem with and I'm reluctant to drasticly change my long developed style. Does anyone else have this problem and is there a way to cure it without doing anything too major to my style or my Jem ?

I changed my picking style after playing one way for 15 years. Changing has been the best thing that's happened to my playing. But I know what you mean about the pinky hitting the volume control. But since changing my picking technique that has been pretty much eliminated.

You can always pick a little higher on the strings and no so close to the bridge when you're sweeping back down.

I've opened my hand wider to wrap my pinky around the volume pot.
When not in use it rests next to the pot- under it. This style also forces your picking technique to be lower and faster and your "chunk" is devistating!

I believe in making the guitar adjust to me not the other way around. So I moved all of my volumes to the tone position, and took the tone out, or stuck it in the rear jack cavity set on "10". It's totally reversable, doesn't permanently change anything.

The one knob 550 with the cutom gaurd looks awesome man!
I like the purposeful custom look on that one. I've examened how much I use the tone pot and it's not a lot. I get most of my sound changes through my Digitech so your ideas have given me something to think about.
