A local shop has a used Prestige RGA121. It has a natural wood finish. I think it has a maple top and a mahagony back. It has no dings or scratches. It has a fixed bridge and the post on the bass side of the bridge is be leaning forward slightly.

Are these very good guitars and can the bridge post be easily repaired? It comes with a factory case. Is this guitar worth the $499.00 they are asking for it?

bridge posts can be a pain in the ass if they're not straight. with floating bridges at least, the holes need to be either redrilled or filled or fixed properly somehow. i don't think it would matter as much with a hardtail, as long as it doesn't get worse. m

y 2550z's bass post is leaning about a millimetre or so forward. i don't know why, as i've had the studs locked down from day one, probably from when i sent it to the all knowing ibanez-friendly guitar techs down the road...but it hasn't affected anything yet, and i don't think it will unless it gets bigger.

It's doubtful the leaning stud means the anchor is leaning. More likely just the play between stud and anchor.

The stud appears to lean some on mine as well but the insert is fine and it's not an issue. Have them take the bridge off and give it a look yourself if your still unsure. $499 is a good price especially w/ case.

Thanks for the ideas. I will try to go back by the store tomorrow. I keep trying to tell myself that I do not need another guitar, but I will probably buy it if it is still there.
Thanks again, Chris

The RGA121 are a super guitar!
Get it, change the pups and smile at the great guitar you have :)

We pay 1506 USD dollar here in Sweden (list price), so smile a week over the price too.

It really is a great working piece of gear, it sounds great, plays great and can take the road without problem. Two of those where my main guitars before the FR came out.

I went back to the store today. After playing the guitar for about twenty minutes I knew that I was going to buy it. Even with rusty strings this guitar sounds fantastic unplugged. I was a little disappointed with the pick-ups but I will probably change them soon.

After looking at the bridge, Rich was right, there is a small amount of play between the stud and the anchor. The previous owner had put 12-48 strings on this guitar. I will restring it tonight. The Prestige J Craft case is in excellent condition also.

I hope to post pictures soon. Thanks to all who commented.

I say grab one while you can, they are discontinued (big mistake Ibanez!). I have had mine since they came out in '05 and LOVE it!! In fact I love it so much I bought the company!! jk  but I did also just get the RGA321fbx.

I put a JB/Jazz combo in my RGA121 and I'm going to add a JB in the bridge of the RGA321 soon enough. Those Duncans really bring out the tone for me in my RGA121.

just a quick shot of my RGA121 with the zebra JB in the bridge and the blk Jazz in the neck. My new RGA321 will have a wht/blk JB installed in the bridge for the same effect and contrast as you can see in these three guitars.

Nice guitars man!
The top one with maple looks extra sexy.

Here is my favorite one (I have 3 121's, two brown and one blond).
It looked like this after being played a lot on a 100 gig job in France.
The other day did I remove the brown and made it look like this.
And now it is transparent red, but I have no picture of that yet.

I had problem with the thought that someone might think that I had done a silly relic on it, so I had to "fix it" up.

This one is an extremely good copy, way better than all the others I tried (a lot of them).

I think the others are here, not sure (have not been updated in a long time so loads of guitars are missing).

The top RG is a fabric top that was done by a fellow jemsiter and later sold to another jemsiter. Keep it in the family I always say ;)

So what plans do you have for the finish on the RGA?

It turned out like this (parts just laying loose on it).
The grain in the wood doesn't come out well on the photo.
I'm happy with the result.
Just the thought that some one might think that I had done some silly relic made me not use the guitar, now I will use it again. :)

I had to take a guess @ Breeds since you have them in MOST of your guitars ;)

RGA looks very nice.
