Hi all. I continue my quest for lightweight amplification of my super clean, bassy 7 string jazz guitar style thing. I'm very excited by the release of the Crate Powerblock head (4.6 lbs, 150 watt @ 8 ohm, effects loop, available for around 2 Bens). I might combine this amp with either a carvin one of these: http://www.carvin.com/products/single.php?ItemNumber=PM5-B&CID=SPK or one of these: http://www.carvin.com/products/single.php?ItemNumber=805&CID=CLB

My concern is that the spot monitor might not project the sound. It is rated to a lower frequency than the 10 inch PA speaker. Of course though, the spot monitor is also about 18 or so lbs lighter.

Another way to go could be the GK MBX 112, a 12 inch speaker with metal box, @ around 12 lbs. Problem with that one is the price, and the rating to only 100 watts.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!
