If an endorsed artist uses a guitar in a studio to record a track but it is not the guitar manufacturer he is endorsed by then he needs a similar guitar to perform that same track live so the endorser will make him one.
A bit like John Mayer and PRS, if you see what I mean.

That's the Hendrix tour guitar, notice the 2010 date. It was green lit as the 25th but Japan blew it and Joe had switched to 24's by then anyway. If the 24 fret triple S ever gets his final approval it will be long overdue.

I'd buy Joe's 22 fret one and they can make him a 24 fret version with a rosewood board like it will likely be if it ever comes out.
