Re-wiring electronics

1010 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  TexicanHippy
Hello

I have no idea how to re wire,

Basically I want to replace all my electronics for new ones,

Firstly my guitar is a Jackson RR, it has a volume, tone and 3 way switch, it has two humbucker pickups.

Secondly where can I buy replacements,

Third how the hell do you re wire them up?

The reason I am replacing all this is because that the ones on there are crap and give me this hissing sound when I try to turn the volume knob up and down slowly.

Impossible for doing that violin sound, tremolo?? is it called.

Cheers

you most likely need to just replace the the volume pot..you can get parts from your local music shop...but i think you should just take it in and get a tech to do it all for you...i shouldn't cost to much.
... or clean the pots ... or a bad ground or cold solder joint. You should be able to fix that without changing all of the electronics. Have a tech check it out.

Hey dude, Ibanez puts the schematics on their website. I pretty much used the schematic from a JEM555 to rewire my RG350. I used allparts 'pots', my local shop carries alot of stuff so I was good :)

For some reason my switch was wired opposite than it is for them JEM5

hope I helped!
