Ok guys, i just got out of hospital after being on my back for 2 weeks solid having fractured T11 and T12 in my back. Who was responsible? Mr Flexifoil Blade III 4.9 traction kite!!!
There was hardly enough wind to keep this thing in the sky when i had my accident. the next thing I know im 4m up and 60m forward and scary speed. I land on my feet and hear a massive crack, then crumple to the ground unable to breathe as all the muscles in my torso went into spasm!!! Never kite alone, i woulda been forked if i was.
I have a further 6 weeks of laying on my back to do and for the limited periods I am allowed on my feet i have to wear this thing that makes me look like robocop.
On the bright side, my physio is a total fox but i still wouldnt recommend breaking your spine to anyone!
I will never kite again, play rugger etc etc, under strict instructions from the consultant, but i have to say it's been a valuable experience, and I'm glad there was no spinal chord damage and i can walk (and shred
)!
Cheers
Al
