Hi all pls tell me the difference between my RG2550 neck and JEM Necks.

The neck on my old rg450 from 92' is away thin than the Wizard neck on the
new guitar rg2550....
But they say that the rg2550 neck is the most thin neck from Ibanez...

Thank you very much!

The 2005 RG wizard and the 2005 Jem necks (5 piece Wizard II Japan sized) are identical.
They only say the 2550 is the thinest Ibanez neck for 2005 - before 2004 the Wizard was thiner and the Jem 7V neck was chunkier and now (probably reducing cost of production) the RG line and the Jem line have the same neck.

Again - that depends on the year of production and the Jem model.
Look here but keep in mind that 7BSB and 7DBK had wizard necs and that for 2005 both the Jem and the RG lines have a 18mm/20mm necks that are absolutely identical even though they are called wizard neck and jem neck repectively.

Hi, that not completly true the DBK seems to have a Wizard Neck but the BSB has not..it has a Jem Neck

I have 3 ibanez guitars, one old RG550 (original joint Neck-- is 87 or 88, not sure -- even the Volume know is closer to the Pick up..I already moved it..)..With the wizard Neck 17 mm (1) a 19,5 mm (12 )..i mesured it..
one 98 Rg570 with 18,5 (1) and 20,5 (12) ..i mesured too! ..It suppose to be a wizard too..so i don´t know how consistence are the ibanez wizard necks ..

and one Jem BSB (1998) which i haven´t mesure it..but it feels thicker than the RG570...(it supose to be 19 (1° fret) and 21 (12 fret) acording to the Jm neck especificacions).. the one i like most is the RG550 neck..

Cheers,
Vladdrac
