I just bought one of these.

I was just curious if anyone could give me information on the serial #. I paid 500$ and that seemed really cheap, considering I see some of them in blue or red go for ~$700 and the tremolo versions even more.

I bought a red one not too long ago for $480. Was yours an ebay special?
You probably have a factory 2nd like I do. Does yours have an "s" on the back of the headstock near the volute like mine does?
They apparently had alot of 921s not pass qc for some reason.
mine had a nut that was way to high and the 23rd and 24th frets weren't seated fully. About an hour with a piece of sand paper, a wooden block and a dead blow hammer, I got the action well below factory spec.
it is 1.4 mm high e, and 1.75mm low E at the 14th fret.

the only problem with getting a factory second is the lack of warranty.

NO, my head stock literally says "D....C" and that's it.

Mine also came with a new ibanez warranty.

It was listed as "brand new w/warranty" on ebay as-well.

if you want I can send you pics of the headstock.

is there a tool to get more information about this serial #?

Premium Serial Numbers - Prior to 11/2011 there are 5 digits followed by a letter. The letter denotes year, starting in 2010 with A, with a 5 digit production number. Post 11/2011 they changed to alpha, 4 numbers, alpha, the first letter being the month, A for January, the last being the year, B for 2011, C for 2012, etc. Z will be the year 2035. Month, production number that month, year.
