Hello guys i have a s540LTD with wizard neck and i´m having a lot of troubles with the neck (buzz a rattling mostly) and i am thinking of changing the neck. Apart, i think the truss Rod reach the top of the neck and is not moving forward.....so

Which ibanez Neck you recommend me to use with 0.11 strings?

thanks

Have you checked all the hardware attached to the neck? Locking nut hardware is often a culprit, especially the screws that hold the nut in place. Then check the tuning pegs, make sure the retainer nut is snug.

you should check the 10 mm nuts that hold the tuners in place. they can come loose and start to rattle.

i doubt you'll need to change the neck unless it is cracked or twisted in a way the truss rod wont fix it, or if the trussrod is actually broken. You can check the truss rod to see if there is any tension on it.

thanks for the reply.. i believe the neck is twisted and the truss rod reach the top because is very hard to twist.

i have only ever snapped one trussrod and I had to try pretty damn hard to do it. Are you making adjustments with the neck under tension or without string tension ? Depending on the bend, strings or no strings could make it turning the truss rod harder.

you should check out rich's setup guide over on "IBANEZ RULES!!" - Ibanez Guitars - New and Used . It is pretty in depth and may help you straighten out your problem.

If there is buzz, wouldn't you need to make some relief and move truss rod backward?

I have an RG560 that has incurable buzz from back bow from age and mistreatment over the years (this happened before I adopted it). I've had two very respectable UK luthiers look at it and they say that it's as slack as possible and I'm using 11s to try to train it back an almost straight line.
@desperatus - are you using 11s in normal tuning? Or a djent style drop tuning? Or...?

Sounds like you've got a fret that's pooped up. Grab your luthier hammer (brass or plastic head) & rap that fret. If you wanna get that bow out, tune it back up to E-standard & play it like that for a while. If the bow comes out, you may have some more frets pop up.
