I have a Ibanez Musician MC300 DS. The darkest one. The clearcoat has a lot of dings and cracks, at some point the wood is a little harmed.
as you may know the body is a laminated body with ash on top and mahogany in the center. The ash is colored transparant brown.
Do you think the brown color 'lies' deep in the wood so I can sand it and keep the original color and put a satin finish on it?
If not the sanded guitar will have an almost uniform color and I like the original laminated look......
If this is a common found guitar or a little rare? If it is common found I may try this experiment, if rare, it is maybe coller to let it in the original shape.
